For over 175 years Overbrook has provided a rich blend of educational and residential
programs aligned to the Pennsylvania State Standards, the National Agenda and the
Expanded Core Curriculum. These specialized services and activities are essential for children with visual impairment and multiple disabilities, including deaf-blindness.
Over 350 students annually, with blindness or visual impairment , who may have additional disabilities and who range in age from birth to 21. Overbrook also provides international outreach services
that enhance the educational and vocational opportunities for persons around the world.
Early Intervention Outreach Services to children birth - 5 years in their home / community setting, and center-based Early Childhood education to children ages 3-5 on our 22 acre campus.
Elementary Education serving students ages 6 – 10, tailored to meet a student’s individual strengths and needs through specially designed instruction in a nurturing and supportive
environment.
Middle School Education serving students ages 11 – 14, with an instructional focus on Academics, Functional Academics, Life Skills and Experiential Learning.
High School Education serving students ages 15 – 18, with an Academic focus or a Functional Academic focus, in a lively technologically-rich environment.
School to Work Education serving students ages 19-21 with the goal of preparing them to lead a productive and satisfying life, and participating in employment opportunities.
Specialized instruction including Orientation and Mobility, Activities of Daily Living, Technology Training, Recreation and Leisure, Communication, Athletics, and a wide variety of Therapeutic
Services.
